Mexico - Earth & Ember Retreat

Welcome to Earth & Ember, an oceanfront women’s retreat held just north of Tulum and south of Cancun created for women seeking grounding, warmth, renewal, and a quiet inner shift. Set during Mexico’s Día de los Muertos, this retreat blends cultural richness, natural beauty, and soul-level restoration into one unforgettable week.

Where the Land Meets Ease

Your home base is a private oceanfront sanctuary where waves set the rhythm and comfort is woven into every detail. All meals are thoughtfully prepared by our in-house chef fresh, seasonal, and deeply nourishing so you can truly settle without decision fatigue or planning.

Shamanic Opening Ceremony & Sound Bowl Journey

We begin with a grounding ceremony led by a local shaman—traditional blessings, gentle release, and an invitation to arrive fully. From there, a soothing sound bowl journey washes through the body and quiets the mind, helping you settle in with clarity, intention, and an open heart as the retreat begins.

Movement, Mindfulness & Nature’s Medicine

Yoga sessions are offered at natural points throughout the week, not every morning, but wherever they enhance the flow and deepen the experience.

A guided eco-therapy session on the beach, reconnects you with the elements warm sand, rolling tide, endless horizon in a way that grounds and restores.

A leisurely bike ride brings a sense of exploration and lighthearted movement into the week.

Workshops That Honor the Season — In Your Way

In the spirit of Día de los Muertos, workshops explore intuition, reflection, connection, and renewal. This season isn’t only about honoring the departed,  it’s also about celebrating the invisible threads that anchor us: lineage, intuition, identity, and the parts of ourselves we’re ready to reclaim.

You’re invited (never required) to bring a photo of someone meaningful – a loved one, a friend, a beloved pet or simply explore the spiritual energy of this time of year. Every woman participates in the way that fits her heart.

Experiences That Restore & Reawaken

A guided visit to a jungle cenote cool, crystalline, and ancient

We’ll venture into the jungle to one of the region’s sacred freshwater cenotes—cool, clear, and rooted in the natural world. As you slip into the water, the quiet of the limestone walls and the filtered sunlight create an easy sense of belonging, like nature is pulling up a seat just for you. Swim, float, or simply breathe it in. It’s refreshing, grounding, and a beautiful reminder of how good it feels to reconnect with the earth herself.

Paddles and snorkel masks available for spontaneous water adventures

Paddle out whenever you feel called and let the water become your meditation space—steady, spacious, and quietly supportive. Or slip beneath the surface with snorkel gear and explore the underwater world, where everything moves at its own unhurried pace. All equipment is available at your leisure, ready whenever inspiration hits. Whether you’re floating above or drifting below, it’s a chance to tune into something bigger, settle your breath, and let the ocean work its own kind of medicine.

Temazcal Ceremony

One of the most meaningful experiences of the Earth & Ember retreat, our Temazcal ceremony takes place within a protected nature reserve, guided by a local shaman who carries this ancestral tradition with deep respect and skill. You’ll step into the warmth of the sacred sweat lodge, a space designed for release, clarity, and renewal. After the ceremony, we’ll cool down with a restorative swim in a nearby cenote, an experience that feels like slipping into the earth’s own heartbeat.

Dance, Play, and Let It All Go

Movement has a way of releasing what words can’t. Our salsa lesson brings the group together through simple steps, shared laughter, and easy connection. Later in the week, the Silent Dance Party invites everyone to drop in even deeper — headphones on, sunset overhead, and pure freedom in motion. Two joyful experiences, one beautiful reminder that letting go can be as simple as moving your body.

A one-hour therapeutic massage for each guest - a complete recalibration

Your retreat includes one complimentary massage, a well-earned pause to let your body release whatever it’s been holding. If you feel called to sink even deeper into relaxation, the on-site spa offers additional treatments throughout your stay. Services are available at your leisure, so you can follow your own rhythm—whether that’s a single moment of care or a full afternoon of tending to your body and spirit.

Food, Connection, and Nourishment

Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared with heart by our in-house culinary team, who understand that nourishment is part of the healing. The menu celebrates fresh, vibrant Mexican flavors with a modern touch, all crafted from nutrient-rich, locally sourced ingredients. If you follow a specific way of eating—gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, or anything in between—our kitchen is ready to take care of you with the same thoughtfulness and attention given to every guest.

The Heart of the Retreat: Día de los Muertos at Xcaret

You’ll spend a full afternoon exploring Xcaret’s extraordinary natural spaces — underground rivers, beaches, lagoons, inlets, and freshwater pools. It’s one of the rare places where you can float, swim, wander, and simply exist in awe of the landscape.

Then, you’ll return in the evening for Mexico’s most breathtaking Día de los Muertos celebration — recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

You’ll walk beneath an arch of cempasúchil (marigold) flowers, absorbing their vivid scent and color — a symbolic gateway into remembrance and celebration. Across the park, you’ll encounter:

  • Vibrant altars
  • Traditional foods and tastings
  • Regional workshops
  • Artisan markets
  • Cultural expositions
  • Theatrical performances and storytelling
  • Dance, music, and gala concerts

Ease at Every Step

All transportation for scheduled excursions — including cenote experiences, daytime Xcaret explorations, and the evening celebration — is included for guests arriving within our hosted travel windows.  (Arrival to Cancun airport 2pm-6pm and Departure to Cancun Airport 10a -1pm)

Earth & Ember is for women who want grounding without heaviness, connection without pressure, and luxury without pretense.

A week where the earth steadies you, the ember stirs something bright, and you return home more open, more alive, and more deeply yourself.
